Therapy insurance and payment
Clear information before therapy begins.
Skill Spark Therapy accepts several insurance plans and also offers private-pay options.
Please verify your specific plan
Being listed with an insurance company does not guarantee that every plan, service, location, will be covered. Benefits are confirmed using your exact member information.
Clients are responsible for understanding their insurance benefit coverage and out of pocket contribution (if it applies).
Plans currently accepted
Insurance participation varies by state and service.
Commercial insurance
Blue Cross Blue Shield, UnitedHealthcare and Optum, Medica, Aetna, UMR, and HealthPartners plans may be accepted.
Public programs and EAP
Minnesota Medicaid including BluePlus, Medica, and Ucare HMOs. Wisconsin ForwardHealth (WI Medicaid) plans may be accepted.
Optum Employee Assistance Program benefits can be utilized after authorization.
Private payment
Private pay and eligible HSA funds are accepted. Contact Skill Spark Therapy for current fees and service-specific payment options.
Important coverage limits
Relationship intensives, ketamine medication, non-covered assessments, and extended KAP dosing sessions may not be reimbursed or billed to insurance. These services will incur charges outside of what is billed to insurance and client responsibility.

Quick answers
Billing and insurance FAQs
Will insurance pay for therapy?
Many plans cover medically necessary psychotherapy, but coverage depends on your benefits, diagnosis requirements, network status, deductible, and service type.
Does insurance cover relationship therapy?
Sometimes. Many plans require one identified client with a diagnosable mental health condition. Therapy focused only on the relationship may not qualify for coverage. In this situation, the couple can elect to pay privately for care.
What parts of KAP are covered?
Eligible psychotherapy sessions may be billable to insurance. Ketamine medication, prescribing evaluations, and some extended dosing-session costs are generally separate.
Who should I contact with billing questions?
Contact Skill Spark Therapy at (651) 234-0894 or admin@skillsparktherapy.com. Current clients should use the secure client portal for private account questions.
