Learn About KAP
Ketamine is a prescribed substance used to help boost your brain’s response to therapeutic interventions and is considered a psychedelic assisted psychotherapy.
Together in therapy, we create a treatment plan including preparation, dosing, and integration of ketamine.
It is vital that clients feel safe and educated on the process of KAP.
Evidence based studies have show that KAP improves clinical outcomes in 85% of cases. Clients who use KAP often experience breakthroughs and improvement in treatment resistant anxiety and/or depression. It an also aid in trauma recovery and help clients change behavior patterns they have felt “stuck” in.
As a KAP therapist, I help clients prepare for dosing, provide a therapeutic presence and supervision during dosing, and help you integrate the experience in future sessions.
Before KAP can begin, clients must undergo an assessment with Journey Clinical to obtain your ketamine prescription and be deemed eligible.

Psychotherapy is reimbursable by commercial insurance, but Ketamine prescription and the assessment for eligibility are currently separate out of pocket costs.

The KAP Experience
Creating a safe therapeutic space and going through a guided preparation process are a vital component to positive outcomes.
Dosing sessions will be facilitated in a safe setting either in-person or virtually with a licensed therapist. If virtual, a designated chaperone is required for safety.
Client’s vital signs are taken and tolerance to the medicine are monitored throughout the KAP experience.
It doesn’t end with a dosing session, the biggest value comes after the dosing experience. Integration sessions help clients take advantage of increased neuroplasticity & behavior change. Often the experience leads to an expanded awareness and a shift in mindset.
